After switching from analogical photo cameras to digital photography some years ago, I recently started again having fun with an analogical camera, the Olimpus Pen EE. This camera was introduced in 1961, it’s an automatic camera with the peculiarity of exposing half-frame, this means that it divides the 35mm film in two giving space to two exposures, so a roll of 24 poses gives you 48 pictures.

Here some pictures selected from the first film roll I’ve used with the Olimpus Pen EE.

This animation was done to accompany the exhibition Glad To See You – Bizarre Dee meets Pane. Some elements of my paintings were cut and animated to make this very long loop, this animation it’s not meant to be dynamic and fast, on the contrary is slow and hypnotic; I doubt you’ll have the patient of watching it all.
