Questo gruppo nel corso del tempo si sarebbe distinto per qualitı e quantitı di opere realizzate a spray sui vagoni della metropolitana, e sulle superfici della cittı, venne presto considerato uno tra I pi˜ meritevoli di attenzione, e invitato in europa e in italia a partecipare a diverse manifestazioni di Writing. Il progetto Why Style nasce alcuni anni dopo, con líintenzione di volere andare oltre allí originale modo di interpretare la street art e líattivitı artistica legata al writing, con la produzione di opere/cose dove pur essendo presente lo spirito e líattidune del manifestare se stessi, secondo una delle principali regole non scritte del writing, che prevede la diffusione del propio nome, come in una auto propaganda, si includono temi creativi e processi tecnici nuovi. Secondo questo criterio oggi oltre a, Joe, Nico Pane e Stand della crew dei TRV, di Why Style fa parte Scarful e di volta in volta a seconda del progetto il gruppo si avvale di collaborazioni da parte di altri artisti, Ë anche per questa elasticitı che il lavoro di Why Style oscilla, tra pittura, installazione, scultura, grafica, fotografia, t-shirt , ognuno con le propie capacitı e possibilitı puÚ contribuire alla realizzazione di uníidea. WHY STYLE The Artistic/Commercial productions that we see being created today by the group Why Style are the result of a process begun a decade ago, when some young people joined together to form one of the first writer crews in Rome, ìI TRVî (The Riot Vandals). Over time this group would to distinguish itself for the quality and quantity of works realised with spray on underground railway cars and on city surfaces; soon it came to be considered among those most deserving of attention, receiving invitations in Italy and elsewhere in Europe to participate in different Writing events. The Why Style project came into existence several years later, with the intention to go beyond the original way of interpreting street art and artistic activity in connection with writing, with the production of works/objects where creative themes and new technical processes are included - even though the spirit and attitude of the manifesting of self is still present, according to one of the principal non-written rules of writing: the diffusion of oneís name as a sort of self-advertisement. In line with this criterion, today in addition to Joe, Nico, Pane and Stand of the TRV crew, Scarful is a member of Why Style and, depending on the project, from time to time the group avails itself of the collaboration of other artists/technicians. This elasticity is among the reasons why the work of Why Style varies, including painting, installation/sculpture, graphic arts/design, photography/video and fashion/t-shirts, with everyone able to contribute to the realisation of an idea though his personal skills and capacities. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
